It is obvious from the table that 20 patients in June 2008 participated in the treatment program from 9 to 12 months, 13 patients participated in the treatment program more than 12 months. Among these 33 patients, 26 of them during the out-patient treatment didn't use any of psychoactive substances, which makes 79 %. Nine patients who were involved in the program had recidive. Reason for recidive was because the patients didn't obey the rules of out-patients program (refused another implant of naltrexone, disobeyed the rules of out-patient treatment), comorbid psychic, neurologist pathology, without motivation.
From 130 patients which had detoxication and implantation 74 of them asked for another implantation of naltrexone. The informations from the questionnaire show that from 74 patients who had implants 46 of them didn't use the narcotics, and that is 62 % and it shows that prolonged forms of naltrexone are very effective in prevention of recidive. Based on the questionnaire, it's obvious the quality of remission - patients are asked if they had the pathological desire for narcotics (thoughts, desire to use narcotics, dreams about narcotics), the stability of psychological condition (the presence of nervousness, depression, bad quality of dreams) and the social adaptation (job, studying, communicational, recovery) were estimated. Based on results, the patients are separated in the groups listed below:
-
The excellent quality remission, the criteria was the absence of thoughts, desire, dreams about the narcotics, stable dreams, apetit, mood, the absence of nervousness, they are not using other psychoactive substances, regular use of the medications, having job or studying, having new friends.
-
The satisfactory quality remission- stable condition with periodical desire for narcotic, periodically badly and is in bad mood.
-
The unsatisfactory quality remission- patient is not using narcotics, but the presence of desire, depression, problems with behavior and with bad socialization are still very expressed. To the patients from this group we recommend hospitalization or out-patient stabilizing therapy.
